Former radio show star faces drug possession charges

| Mar 27, 2017 | Drug Charges

Entertainment news sources report that well-known actor and comedian Artie Lange was taken into police custody on March 12, and fans in Virginia may want to know more about the events of that day. According to a spokesperson for the Hoboken Police Department, the incident occurred when officers responded to a call that someone was trying to break enter a vehicle parked in a garage.

Sources indicate that local law enforcement officials had received a report that someone was attempting to enter a vehicle that was parked in the area of 14th Street and Shipyard Lane. When responders arrived at the scene, one of the officers was able to observe what appeared to be suspected heroin and cocaine inside the car. After Lange approached police and confirmed that he was the owner of the vehicle under investigation, authorities discovered more of the suspected substances on his person.

Following his release from jail, the former Howard Stern radio star referred to the news in a Tweet and suggested that he was a “flawed person” who was trying. In the past, he had published a collection of memoirs, ‘Too Fat to Fish,” in which he chronicled his struggle with addiction. He is now facing charges for the possession of cocaine and heroin.

Residents of Virginia who find themselves facing similar drug charges may want to consult with an attorney that specializes in criminal law. Depending on the facts of the case, a lawyer may be able to challenge the prosecution’s evidence and work to have the charges reduced or dismissed. In the event that the case proceeds to trial, an attorney could protect his or her client’s rights throughout the legal process.Source: Radar Online, “Drug Bust!
