Man charged with DUI, hit and run in Virginia

On Behalf of | Sep 12, 2016 | Drunk Driving (DUI)

Many legal proceedings may seem like a hassle to individuals, but such processes could be beneficial. Individuals who have been accused of DUI or related offenses have the opportunity during criminal proceedings to defend themselves against the allegations. They may find themselves working toward agreeable outcomes due to this opportunity if they utilize the legal options that they feel are their best options for success.

One individual in Virginia may taking advantage of this chance after recently being taken into custody. Reports stated that the 64-year-old driver had allegedly hit a vehicle and then left the scene. After leaving, he then purportedly struck a second vehicle and also left that scene. Authorities were alerted to the situation, and they apparently later located the suspect.

The man is currently facing charges for felony hit and run, driving under the influence and having an open container. It was unclear whether any field sobriety tests or blood-alcohol tests were administered. He was taken to a county detention center. Reports indicated that he was being held without bond at the time. Additional information on his predicament may be available at a later time as his case moves forward.

Because this man is facing multiple charges in Virginia, including one for DUI, finding out information on the specifics of the charges may help him better understand his situation. In addition, this information may allow him to find the avenues that he feels could best suit his criminal defense. Consulting with his legal counsel may also allow him to gain reliable knowledge that could be put toward his defense efforts.
