Virginia man facing DUI charge after accident

On Behalf of | Aug 19, 2016 | Drunk Driving (DUI)

Charges are filed for driving under the influence on a fairly regular basis. However, individuals accused of DUI face a case that is unique to the particular details of their predicament. As a result, there is no single way to handle such allegations, and individuals who have had charges brought against them may wish to determine how they feel most comfortable moving forward.

One man in Virginia may soon be learning more about his defense options after a recent arrest. Reports stated that the 24-year-old man had been involved in a car accident after he reportedly lost control of his vehicle and hit a guardrail. His vehicle ended up stopped in the street, and as a result, another vehicle had to swerve in an attempt to avoid a collision. That action caused the second vehicle to flip.

Injuries resulted from the incident, but they were all considered non-life threatening. The accident happened at approximately 9:40 p.m. The next day, the man was charged with driving under the influence. It was unclear what methods were used in determining that the man may have been intoxicated, and a blood-alcohol percentage was not given in the report.

Being charged with DUI can cause many individuals to feel panicked about their situation. However, there is assistance available that could help this man and other interested parties facing similar charges find plausible legal routes for creating and presenting a meaningful criminal defense. Consulting with an experienced Virginia defense attorney could help the man combat the charges in the manner he may find most useful.
