Virginia couple may consider criminal defense options

On Behalf of | May 6, 2016 | Criminal Defense

When facing criminal charges, there are various options that individuals should consider. For some, creating and presenting a criminal defense may be an avenue they can explore more closely. However, each individual should take time to determine which options may be best suited to his or her particular circumstances. A couple in Virginia are likely taking such action after recently being taken into custody.

Reports stated that authorities were alerted to a situation involving a lost boy when the boy’s father called emergency services. According to reports, the 3-year-old child had been missing for approximately half an hour before authorities were asked to assist in a search for the child. At approximately 3 a.m., the child was located nearly a mile from his home.

It was noted in the report that authorities had gained information that led to the man and woman being taken into custody. It was unclear what may have caused the arrests to appear necessary. Nonetheless, the 30-year-old man and 27-year-old woman were arrested on charges of felony child neglect as well as misdemeanor marijuana possession.

As their cases move forward, the man and woman may wish to individually determine which legal paths will work best for their specific situations. If they wish to learn more about criminal defense options, they will want utilize local resources in order to gain reliable information. Additionally, they will likely wish to consult with their legal counsel in order to better understand the charges and what they may face during Virginia criminal court proceedings.
