Man, woman facing drug charges in Virginia

On Behalf of | May 19, 2016 | Drug Charges

The ways in which a legal predicament could be handled may depend on what types of allegations have been made. As a result, individuals who are facing drug charges may wish to follow different legal avenues than parties who have been charged with other criminal activity. Luckily, there are options that individuals may explore in attempts to move forward in an effective manner.

Two people in Virginia may be looking into their legal options after recently being taken into custody. Reports stated that authorities allegedly received a tip apparently pertaining to possible illegal drug activity at a residence. As a result, police searched the home and reportedly discovered 5 pounds of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and over $1,000 cash. It was noted that there was a man, woman and two children in the home at the time of the search.

The man and woman were both taken into custody as a result of the situation. They are currently facing charges for marijuana distribution and two other allegations. It was noted that the children were taken from the home and were under the care of Child Protective Services at the time of the report.

If the man and woman would like to approach their cases with as much knowledge as possible, they may want to gain more information on the drug charges and other allegations brought against them. Having this information may allow them to better understand what the charges mean and how they may be able to handle them. Additionally, consulting with their legal counsel may help them better understand Virginia criminal proceedings.
