Man charged with felonies after alleged shooting in Leesburg

On Behalf of | Apr 7, 2016 | Felonies

Serious charges could stem from situations in which a person has been injured or killed. In many cases, an individual accused of playing a role in the outcomes could face felonies in relation to a fatal event. If this is the case, that party will surely want to consider the best possible ways to handle a criminal case and the allegations brought against him or her.

One man may be interested in exploring his options after recently being taken into custody. Reports stated that the arrest stemmed from an event that took place in Leesburg. Apparently, a purported domestic dispute resulted in the death of a woman. The 30-year-old man and 34-year-old woman were reportedly at her home when a child at the home called emergency services about a verbal dispute.

Authorities arrived at the scene, and they allegedly found the woman with multiple gunshot wounds. She was taken to an area hospital, but she succumbed to her injuries. The man was apparently not at the woman’s residence when police arrived, but he was later taken into custody at his own home. He is currently facing charges for murder and other criminal accusations.

Due to the serious felonies that have been leveled against him due to the  Leesburg incident, the man must now focus on doing his best to handle the situation. He may want to prepare for his case by finding out more information on the charges filed against him and how his case may be handled in Virginia criminal court. Additionally, discussing his predicament with an experienced defense attorney may help him understand and plan for the coming court proceedings.
