Man charged for drug possession in Virginia

| Apr 27, 2016 | Drug Possession

Dealing with the legal ramifications that can come along with being charged with a crime can be a stressful situation to face. One man in Virginia may soon be wondering how to handle his case after recently being taken into custody on drug possession charges. Reports stated that he was taken into custody after a search warrant was executed at his home.

Apparently, authorities have been conducting an investigation over the course of a few months in order to combat heroin use in the area. It was noted that few details could be released about the man’s alleged involvement with illegal drugs as the investigation was still continuing. It was reported that a search warrant was carried out at the man’s residence, and authorities purportedly found a gun and approximately half a pound of heroin.

As a result of the search, the man was taken into custody on charges for heroin possession with intent to distribute. Police suspect that the man may have had involvement in recent deaths related to heroin overdoses, and as a result, additional charges could potentially be filed. It was unclear what may have caused the man to fall under suspicion in the first place.

Due to the drug possession charges leveled against him, the man will likely want to determine how to handle his legal predicament. Information on various methods for addressing criminal charges may help him better understand his options and which channels may be best suited for him. Furthermore, gaining knowledge on Virginia criminal proceedings relating to the allegations he faces may also prove useful.
