Thomas V. Mulrine
866-752-1706
Prior to forming the Anderson & Mulrine law firm with Bob Anderson, I was an Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney for Loudoun County right here in Leesburg, Virginia. Before becoming a prosecutor, I was a trial lawyer with Venable, a Washington, D.C. law firm, and before that I was a Colonel on active duty with the United States Army. So I guess you could say I've been around.
The reason I tell you about my background is not because it's important to me, but to let you know that I am a seasoned and very experienced trial lawyer specializing not only in criminal law, but criminal law as it is practiced here in Loudoun County, Virginia.
As a former prosecutor, I handled every type of criminal case from murder to driving under the influence. I tried many, many cases in front of a jury and bench trials in front of a judge. I also negotiated many plea bargains. I tried complex cases in every court in Loudoun County; the Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court, the General District Criminal and Traffic Courts and the Circuit Court. From that experience, I learned exactly how the criminal justice system operates in Virginia and I became familiar with most of the people who operate that system in Loudoun County. Now, as a criminal defense lawyer, I try all types of adult and juvenile, criminal and civil cases in all the courts.
I am qualified by the Virginia State Bar to serve as a guardian ad litem for children and incapacitated adults. I have been appointed as a Commissioner in Chancery for the Circuit Court of Loudoun County. In July 2008, I was elected President of the Loudoun County Bar Association by my fellow attorneys.
As a military officer, I served on active duty for over 30 years and retired as a Colonel. I was a platoon leader in Vietnam where I earned two Bronze Star medals. Later I served all over the world in a number of jobs including an assignment with the Inspector General's Office in the Pentagon, so I know my way around the military justice system as well. My years of military service gave me the valuable insights regarding the defense of juveniles and young men and women
